Rocklin continues to grow. It would be wonderful to see better control and planning of infrastructure as the city grows. Every builder should be required to pay fees that cover the full cost of the growth they are generating and profiting from. The builder will pass these costs along to the home purchaser or stores owners (Commercial Construction).

I truly believe that the additional growth does not benefit the current residents. The city exists for the benefit of the current residents. Developers are visitors to our fair city. They must be strictly controlled and monitored or they will avoid all costs possible. I recently drove through a development where the streets were filthy and the construction site was littered with hazards. This is pretty typical when builders are allowed to run amok. During the last Beazer fiasco, the city found they had approved a development behind an existing development. The plans showed the new homes 4’ higher than the homes behind them. The same subdivision has a 40’ earth wall directly adjacent to one neighbors pool. Can you imagine looking up at this 40’ wall of dirt right next to your pool. I wonder how the city missed this during plan review? When the residents complained the cities response was along the line of ‘oh well, we approved the project and cannot fix it at this point’.

We will be paying the cost of the lawsuits the city is loosing for the next few years.

On another note, Kathy Lund is Mayor of Rocklin again. How can this dull-normal woman continue to lead Rocklin? Obviously, it will be without creativity and logic. Her answer to everything is “let’s have breakfast and discuss it.” Kathy, your already fat enough. You needs to push the plate away and find someone with a brain to tell you what to think. The city staff is not the place to go looking for good advice. The staffs’ agendas are not consistent with the cities needs or good business practices. The council people need to start getting their advice from a different crowd than the staff, developers or the breakfast club.

I am still amazed the Lund didn’t join Yorde on the side lines. Her accomplishments did not warrant re-election.

Why doesn’t light rail run to Rocklin?

It’s pretty simple. Roseville and Rocklin told Sacramento Regional Transit (RT) that they would not participate in the cost of extending the system. Sacramento RT is building light rail to Folsom, Elk Grove and to the Airport, but not to Roseville or Rocklin.

The morons who are our the city councils and Placer County board of Supervisors have substituted Regional Rail for light rail.

Instead of working with RT, Rocklin has built a $2M train facility for the passenger trains that run twice in the morning and twice in the evening at a cost of $7 each way. RT runs every 15 minutes and charges only $1.50. Our elected officials have bought us another lemon that will only serve a few at too high a price.

The current crop of politician from both parties continue to discuss regional rail and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) as if those are real solutions. BRT means instead of being stuck in traffic in your car you will be stuck in a bus in traffic. At some point our dull normal (low IQ) representatives must realize the best mass transit delivery is via light rail.

I’ve asked many of them to publicly commit to light rail as the best mode for the commuting public. All have declined. Alice Dowdin’s answer “I’ll consider it”, is political drivel at its worst.

Join me in voting against all incumbents and office holders this March. Out with the old.
